My name is EmILY

I create human-centered products

What I love about UX is its focus on ensuring we include the "human" element with helping people, society, and the world around us. Currently, as a product manager, I ensure the voice of the customer is heard, combining user needs and business needs during the development of new products and solutions.
"Product management is a key function that works across various stakeholders in an organization, helping to ensure priorities across company goals, customer demand and competition are balanced." - Shelley Iocona

My UX Journey

I began my UX journey with a Master's in Human Centered Design & Engineering to better understand the customers I was making technology for, focusing on UX research.

Why is UX research important? Well, it is the essential foundation to designing and understanding any product, service, or system. It helps us better understand our users and put their needs at the center of the design. I’ve spent a lot of time understanding how different technologies are built, made, and strategized. But, always the longing for understanding the why, the purpose of making this technology, nagged at my brain. Is this technology actually helping anyone? Is this what they want? Is it harming anyone? I plan to focus my professional career on answering these questions and applying these answers into product strategy.
